The year 2001 marked a turning point in Carlos Albert’s career. Coinciding with the completion of his Fine Arts studies at the Complutense University of Madrid, the artist received the Iberia First Prize for Sculpture, an award designed to support young creators in Spanish contemporary art.
Trained in sculpture and with a particular focus on working with iron and steel, Albert later expanded his training in Spain and the United Kingdom, earning a Diploma of Advanced Studies in 2003. Since the late 1990s, he has maintained an active exhibition schedule, showcasing his work in museums, galleries, and art fairs in Spain, the United Kingdom, and Luxembourg.
Throughout his career, he has received various national grants and awards, including those from the University of Seville, the Fernando Quiñones Award, and the City of Melilla Award, in addition to completing various official commissions. His artistic practice also extends to drawing and relief sculpture, although blacksmithing and metalwork constitute one of the cornerstones of his body of work.
His work is included in institutional and private collections, including those of Caixanova, the University of Seville, the Complutense University of Madrid, the FRIDE Foundation, and the Ayllón Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as numerous municipal and private collections.
