BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
PIERRE MAYNADIER (1888-1948). France, ca. 1930.
Ceiling lamp.
Pressed glass. Nickel-plated bronze.
In working order. New wiring.
Measurements: 96 x 78 x 78 cm.
This ceiling lamp consists of six panels that take the form of eagle heads with pronounced beaks and synthesized plumage. It stands out for its Art Deco character, also noticeable in the nickel-plated bronze frame.
Pierre Maynadier specialized in Art Deco lighting. Although he did not produce the glass itself, he worked closely with major glass factories of the time, such as Muller Frères, Schneider and Sabino. Maynadier's company continued to operate after his death, being managed by his son and then by his grandson, until its final closure in 1966.
