This Spanish cornucopia is a magnificent representation of the Spanish late rococo of the period of Carlos III, a time of special refinement in the decorative arts, where the baroque heritage is combined with a progressive formal refinement of enlightened taste.
The sinuous and asymmetrical frame is richly carved with an ornamental repertoire of rock gardens, acanthus leaves, scrolls, cartouches and plant motifs of great dynamism.
During the reign of Charles III, Spanish interior decoration fully adopted the Rococo language, especially in mirrors and cornucopias destined for salons, cabinets and private oratories.
