"The cosmic horseman".

The cosmic horseman is part of Dalí's graphic production, when his classic surrealist imaginary is hybridized with scientific, metaphysical and spatial concerns. The print presents an unlimited desert landscape, constructed with a rigorous perspective and an atmosphere of temporal suspension, constant features in Dalí's work since the 1930s. In the center emerges a set of emblematic motifs: the equestrian figure in dynamic tension, the deformed soft clock - symbol of relative time - and isolated architectures that act as metaphysical landmarks in an empty space.

Within his graphic production, this engraving is representative of the artist's will to disseminate his iconography through limited editions, carefully supervised and signed, without losing symbolic complexity or technical quality. The work clearly condenses his late imaginary: a fully self-conscious surrealism, more reflexive than provocative, but equally recognizable and personal.

Salvador Dalí i Domènech was one of the central figures of surrealism and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Trained in Madrid and linked to the surrealist group in Paris since the late 1920s, he developed a language based on the meticulous representation of dreamlike and symbolic images. Throughout his career he explored painting, sculpture, graphics and multiple disciplines, combining art, science and mysticism. Following his first solo exhibition in New York in 1934, his international projection was definitively consolidated. Most of his production is gathered in the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueras, followed by the collection of the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg (Florida), the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Salvador Dalí Gallery in Pacific Palisades (California), the Espace Dalí in Montmartre (Paris) or the Dalí Universe in London.
