This series encapsulates one of the essential principles of Jo Niemeyer’s work: the use of the golden section as a generative system for composition. The six silkscreen prints explore different relationships between elementary geometric forms, shifted and superimposed within the white space. Niemeyer uses proportion, distance, and position as variables in a sequence: each image presents a new relationship of balance and tension within the same system. This mathematical exploration of form constitutes one of the constant themes in his work. The Arithmeum at the University of Bonn specifically highlights the *proportio divina* as a recurring foundation of his compositions.

Jo Niemeyer is a German artist and designer associated with Concrete and Constructivist art. After studying graphic design and later visual design and architecture in Helsinki, he began developing—in the late 1960s—a body of work based on geometric structures, proportional systems, and, in particular, the golden ratio, extending this research from painting and graphic art to land art projects. In 2007, he received the International Evard Art Prize. His graphic work is represented in the collection of the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, which holds a silkscreen portfolio also printed by Edition Partanen, and his career has been the subject of institutional exhibitions such as the one organized by the Arithmeum in Bonn.
