The chair, governed by the avant-garde and innovation, was part of Blauhaus, which was consolidated in the early 80's as an avant-garde project in Barcelona, redefining the border between art and industrial design. Under the leadership of Jean-Pierre Guillemot and Safia Ounouh, the initiative was committed to the creation of everyday objects that functioned as artistic pieces. The high point of this movement took place in 1983, when the Fundació Caixa de Pensions hosted a historic exhibition that integrated proposals by creators of the stature of Mariscal and Broto. That show not only exhibited furniture, but also proposed a new model of living where contemporary art and functionality converged in a disruptive way.

Juan Guillermo Tejeda Marshall, known artistically as "Tex", is a fundamental figure in Chilean graphic design. He began his career in the 1960s and stood out for his creative work in the magazines Paula and Ramona. After his exile in Italy in 1974 and a period of training in Budapest, he settled in Barcelona, where he consolidated his academic profile as a professor at the prestigious Escola Elisava. Upon his definitive return to Chile in 1988, he continued his work as a cultural dynamizer, founding in 1992 La Máquina del Arte, a pioneering project aimed at strengthening the link between artistic creation and society.
