In this portrait the author reveals a certain orientalist air, both in the conception of the features of the protagonist of the scene, as in the light tones that allude to the light and luminosity that was a constant in the aforementioned pictorial genre. Aesthetically, Funke, follows the classic precepts of the portrait, with the figure in the center of the scene, arranged in a frontal way, although slightly turned in three quarters. Bernhard Funke or Bern Funke was a German artist, born in Essen. Funke began his artistic training in his own city and later moved to Schleswig-Hostein, where he established his studio.
