Measurements: 114 x 146 cm.
Ismael Balanyà trained with his father and at the Massana School in Barcelona, where he later became a teacher (since 1965). He made numerous murals, among them the one in the Chapel of the Relics of the Monastery of Poblet, and was also an engraver and illustrator of books. Between 1945 and 1948 he settled in Paris, where he came into contact with the avant-garde. He developed a decomposed figurative language, focused on traditional themes and characterized by subdued colors and hieratic figures. Throughout his career he participated in numerous exhibitions and official shows, and is currently represented in museums and private collections.
