SALVADOR RODRÍGUEZ BRONCHÚ, (Godella, Valencia, 1913-1999).
"Urban view".
Oil on tablex.
Signed in lower right corner.
Measurements: 40 x 65 cm, 64 x 89 cm (frame).
Salvador Rodríguez Bronchú was formed in the workshop of his father, the painter and scenographer Francisco Rodríguez Cabanes and later he received lessons of the teacher Juan Belda, painter of Godella who was pensioned in Rome.
Admirer of Ignacio Pinazo and José Navarro, he was one of the most important masters of the so-called "School of Godella". In his beginnings he was known as the painter of the grays, but he gradually abandoned this way of painting and changed to a more colorful and dense painting, skillfully worked with the palette knife, excelling in the composition of his paintings. In his long artistic career he received numerous awards including a Second National Medal of Fine Arts in 1957. His work is represented in numerous museums and art galleries. In 1978 he was awarded the Gold Medal of the Villa de Godella, where he died on November 27, 1999.
