Jaume Mariné was a basically self-taught painter, who specialized in landscape and marine painting. In these fields he absorbed the very rich Catalan landscape tradition, represented by Mir, Meifrén or Gimeno among others. One of his favorite sources of inspiration was the landscape of the Costa Brava in Empordà, and in particular its northern limit: Cadaqués or, as in this case, Port de la Selva, whose enclaves he interpreted with vigorous lyricism and colorfulness, both in the resolution of the first terms and in the expression of the sky. From 1975 onwards he had numerous individual exhibitions in Barcelona, Vic, Huesca, Logroño, Olot, Figueras, Banyoles, Madrid, etc. He also made his work known abroad: Paris, Grenoble. He has been awarded several painting prizes.
