FEDERICO RIBAS MONTENEGRO (Vigo, 1890 - Madrid, 1952).

Draughtsman and publicist, Federico Ribas laid the foundations of the Spanish publicity with his advertisements and posters of the industry of perfumery Gal, realized from 1916. He worked at the beginning of the century for the most important magazines and publishing houses of the time in Madrid and Paris, charging up to 250 dollars for a woman's head to the "Pictorial Review" of New York at the end of the 1920s. With the outbreak of the Civil War she would leave for Argentina, where she continued to work and hold exhibitions, she collaborated with local magazines and also with anti-Francoist newspapers such as "España Republicana". At the end of 1949 he returned to Spain and died three years later.
