The work up for auction is particularly characteristic of Agustí Puig due to the importance he places on gesture, line, and material—fundamental elements of his artistic language. The artist reduces the female body to a bold silhouette traced with black lines that are swift and deliberately imperfect, moving away from any attempt at conventional anatomical representation. Also characteristic is the prominence of the surface itself: stains, glazes, transparencies, and textural irregularities remain visible and form an active part of the composition.

Agustí Puig trained at the Escola d’Arts i Oficis de Sabadell, the Escola Massana, and the Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc. In 1985, he received the fourth honorable mention in the Joan Miró International Drawing Prize. His work is included in the collections of the Fundació Vila Casas, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, and the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Tarragona, among others.
