“Caliente, caliente” belongs to a period in which Pepe Puntas developed a visual language built from signs, schematic figures, and small narrative motifs distributed across broad fields of color. Against the intense red background, cars, animals, architectural elements, human figures, numbers, and geometric structures form a sort of visual cartography in which the drawing takes on a spontaneous and deliberately elemental character. The accumulation of these signs and the humor that permeates many of their associations are recognizable features of the artist’s work; it was precisely in 2014 that he created the series *Rueda de reconocimiento*.

Trained at the Mateo Inurria School of Arts and Crafts in Córdoba and later at the Santa Isabel de Hungría Faculty of Fine Arts in Seville, Pepe Puntas has developed his career across painting and sculpture, with a special interest in drawing and sgraffito. He has regularly participated in art fairs such as Art Madrid and ESTAMPA. His work is included in the collection of the IVAM—the institution that acquired his piece *Tiempo libre*—as well as in other public collections.
