"Caps grossos" presents a dialogue that has turned into a confrontation: two figures stand face to face, immersed in an endless exchange of ideas in which each tries to assert dominance over the other. As the artist himself explains, this struggle condemns them to remain motionless, face to face, with neither able to bring the exchange to an end.
Peragón conveys this idea through two large, opposing faces, constructed from a deliberately distorted figuration and enriched with organic, symbolic, and architecturally inspired elements. The proximity between the two figures intensifies the sense of tension, while the small luminous motif situated between their gazes serves as a visual focal point and reinforces the idea of exchange, knowledge, and opposition.
A painter, printmaker, and poet, Sergi Peragón earned a diploma in jewelry design, metal engraving, and gemstone setting from the Official Workshop School of the Catalan Federation of Jewelers and Goldsmiths (1993). The following year, he held his first exhibition in Barcelona, and since then he has regularly exhibited his work in various galleries and art centers not only in Spain but also in Italy. He even went on to open his own art gallery in 2009. Among his most recent exhibitions, those held in 2011 at the Municipal Museum of Albacete and at the Alba Gallery in Ferrara (Italy) are particularly noteworthy. Much of his work is held by a wide range of collectors, as well as by institutions such as the Jordi Rodríguez-Amat Foundation.
