Magnificent complete cutlery set composed of more than 200 pieces of elegant modern design, made in silver punched by the historic Barcelona firm ROCA Jewelry. The pieces present a careful execution, with faceted handle and clean lines, reflecting the sober and refined style of the author's silverware of the mid-twentieth century.
The cutlery is signed "J.ROCA" and has the official hallmarks of silver guarantee. It is a set of great formal quality and aesthetic balance, suitable for both use and collection. Its rarity and complete condition make it an exceptional acquisition.
The ROCA jewelry store was founded in 1888 by Jacinto Roca Fuster, a young watchmaker who opened his first establishment on Carrer Ample in Barcelona. In 1909, the store moved to an emblematic pre-modernist building opposite the Liceu, on the Rambla, and in 1915 expanded its activity to include fine jewelry.
During the 20th century, under the direction of Rogelio Roca Plans and later of his son, Rogelio Roca Salamanca -the first gemologist qualified in Spain and founder of the Spanish Gemmology Association-, the firm consolidated its prestige for the quality of its designs and precious stones.
In the 1960s, in the midst of the effervescence of wedding lists and trousseau culture, J.ROCA made a strong entry into the world of silverware, standing out for its contemporary, refined and timeless design creations, such as this cutlery, testimony to a tradition of craftsmanship in dialogue with modernity.
