Set of four square silver plaques, conceived as ornamental elements of a piece of
ornamental elements of an Art Deco piece of furniture circa 1930. Each plate is decorated
decorated with Egyptian-inspired reliefs, representing feminine and masculine figures in
male and female figures in ritual attitude, offering vessels and food, accompanied by hieroglyphs and plant
hieroglyphs and vegetal motifs.
These compositions refer to scenes of offerings typical of the mural art of ancient Egypt, reinterpreted
Egyptian mural art, reinterpreted in a decorative key in the Art Deco style,
Egyptomania acquired a singular prominence in the decorative arts after the archaeological finds in
decorative arts after the archaeological discoveries in the Valley of the Kings.
