DESCRIPTION
Art Deco table clock. France, ca. 1920.
Onyx and gilt bronze.
With pendulum and bell.
Measurements: 40 × 35 × 13 cm.
Art Deco table clock, made of onyx veined in green and brown tones and gilded bronze. The structure presents a geometric and staggered design, with prismatic volumes that widen at the base, characteristic of the architectural aesthetics of the period.
At the top, there is a bronze sculptural group with two birds facing each other, which provides a decorative accent of naturalistic inspiration within the geometric rigor of the whole.
The circular dial, framed by a bronze bezel, is enameled in white with Arabic numerals in black. The visible pendulum is integrated into the glazed interior of the watch.
A representative example of the technical and aesthetic refinement of French Art Deco design, combining geometric precision, the use of noble materials and the decorative delicacy of the interwar period.
