Porcelain dial with black Roman numerals and black hands. An anthropomorphic representation evoking Apollo decorates the columns. Glass partition with custom-made gilded wooden base.
Lenoir-Ravrio (1783-1846) was the adopted son of André-Antoine Ravrio (1759-1814), who was one of the greatest French bronze craftsmen of the pre- and post-Revolutionary period. Lenoir-Ravrio worked with his father for several years; he became his partner in 1811 and continued the business upon his father's death, gaining a reputation for work supplied to the Garde-Meuble, which awarded him a silver medal.
