Catalan canterano of the 18th century

Catalan canterano from the 18th century.
Walnut wood with boxwood marquetry filigree. Bronze fittings and handles.
It is accompanied by a key.
It shows signs of use and wear and tear. Needs to be reworked.

Bureau canterano made of walnut and boxwood. The piece of furniture consists of a closed body with three registers defined by continuous drawers. All of them have the same ornamentation based on the marquetry that defines the geometric design of each one of the drawers. Each drawer has two handles and a horseshoe-shaped eye in its centre. The upper body closes with a tilted hinged lid and houses a desk display with a five-drawer level. Above the central drawer is a small door decorated with a semicircular arch, which enriches the interior, flanked by hollow compartments topped by a succession of arches. On the outside, the lid is decorated with inlaid boxwood fillets, forming a sinuous vegetal design.
