Margarita Gil Granero holds a degree in Fine Arts and Philosophy and Letters from the University of Barcelona. After completing her studies, she turned to printmaking, training at the Institute of Book Arts in Barcelona and later at the Pietro Vannunci Academy in Perugia, Italy. It was this turning point in her career that led the artist to abandon oil painting for good, after discovering new techniques and materials. She began exhibiting her work in the early 1980s, holding solo exhibitions at various Spanish galleries. Soon, however, she crossed borders to exhibit in France, where she showcased her work from Paris, receiving a very warm reception.
