PETER ROBERT KEIL (Poland, 1942).
Untitled.
Mixed media on cardboard.
Signed in the lower left corner.
Measurements: 100 x 69 cm; 106 x 77 cm (frame).
Peter Robert Keil was introduced to the art world through his family and began studying under the painter Otto Nagel in 1954. Between 1959 and 1961, he studied at the Berlin University of the Arts, where he crossed paths with artists such as Georg Baselitz and Markus Lüpertz. His stays in Paris, London, Mallorca, and the United States contributed to the evolution of his style.
Initially influenced by German Expressionism and the work of Picasso, he developed, beginning in the 1960s, a spontaneous and dynamic style of painting characterized by intense colors, energetic brushstrokes, and a figurative style far removed from realism. In the 1980s, he became associated with the Neue Wilden (New Wild Ones) movement in Berlin. He currently lives and works in Germany, Berlin, and Los Angeles.
