“The Divine Comedy Pop XIV” reinterprets Dante Alighieri’s literary universe through a contemporary aesthetic that combines elements of pop art, symbolism, and abstraction. The composition is organized into three semicircular spaces dedicated to Purgatory, Paradise, and Hell, creating a visual journey through color and form.
At the top, Purgatory is depicted as a desert landscape dominated by spiral architecture and three figures evoking waiting and purification. In the center, Dante and Beatrice take center stage in the depiction of Paradise, enveloped in a luminous atmosphere of blues, whites, and warm tones that symbolize harmony and transcendence. Finally, Hell unfolds in the lower section through a whirlwind of intense colors and winged creatures that accentuate the drama of the scene.
The work is part of the artist’s “Perceptual Narrativism” movement, which transforms major literary and cultural references into symbolic compositions, establishing a dialogue between tradition and contemporary visual language.
