DESCRIPTION
Roman bracelet, 1st–2nd centuries AD. Made of silver, with a circular structure formed by several twisted strands resembling a cord, with smooth ends and a simple hook clasp.
It has a patina consistent with its age.
Measurements: 8 x 8 cm.
During the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, at the height of the Roman High Empire, bracelets were a common part of personal adornment. Twisting several metal wires together allowed for the creation of pieces with a striking decorative effect from a relatively simple structure, as seen in this example.
