DESCRIPTION
Designer table lamp, 1960s–1970s.
White-lacquered metal and chrome-plated metal.
Two light sources and a switch on the base.
Shows some signs of wear. Plug is broken.
Measurements: 40 x 33 x 33 cm.
European-designed table lamp from the 1960s–1970s, featuring clean lines and a geometric composition. It features a wide, circular shade with a domed profile, lacquered in white, supported by a slender, truncated-cone-shaped chrome-plated metal stem that rests on a matching circular base. Two light sources are arranged facing each other beneath the shade, while the switch is located on the base.
The combination of lacquered and chrome-plated metal, as well as the simplicity of its forms, reflects the trends in mid-20th-century European lighting design, characterized by functionality, formal refinement, and a reduction in ornamental elements.
