The CHANEL Camellia No. 5 Flap Shoulder bag, from 2005–2006, represents a captivating combination of the French fashion house’s most iconic codes. Created during Karl Lagerfeld’s tenure as creative director, this design brings together two inseparable symbols of the Chanel universe: the camellia and the number 5, reinterpreted in an accessory that combines femininity, personality, and Parisian elegance. The camellia has held a special place in the brand’s history since the early 20th century. Admired by Gabrielle Chanel for the purity of its lines and the harmony of its petals, this flower became one of her favorite motifs, making its way from textile embellishments to jewelry and accessories. Its refined silhouette embodied a sophisticated beauty, free from excessive ornamentation, which would ultimately define the house’s aesthetic language. The number 5, for its part, evokes the legendary CHANEL No. 5 perfume.
