The history of the Lady Dior dates back to 1995, when Bernadette Chirac, then First Lady of France, gave Princess Diana a Dior bag as a gift during a visit to Paris. The model, initially known as Chouchou, caught the princess’s interest and was renamed Lady Dior in her honor. Its international popularity helped establish it as one of the house’s most iconic accessories. The Cannage motif also has deep roots in the house’s history. Its geometric pattern is inspired by the wickerwork of the Napoleon III-style chairs used by Christian Dior in his haute couture salons, where he received his clients and presented his collections. Transposed to leather goods, this pattern became a distinctive visual element that bridges French decorative tradition with contemporary design. The Large Lady Dior Zip preserves these historical elements while offering a more practical take on the classic bag. The top zipper, detachable strap, and spacious design meet the needs of the contemporary woman seeking to combine elegance and functionality.
