DANIEL BACQUE (Vianne, 1874–Paris, 1947),
"Grape Harvester."
Bronze. Barbedienne Foundry.

Measurements: 33 cm (height).
He was born on September 20, 1874, in Vianne, France. His father was a cabinetmaker for the French government, responsible for restoring national furniture. He moved to Paris, where he trained in the prestigious studio of the sculptor Antoine Bourdelle. He began exhibiting regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français starting in 1900. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards, most notably the Gold Medal at the 1922 Salon.
Although he created public monuments and works in the classical style, he is highly sought after in the art market for his Art Deco pieces, especially his bronze figures and dancers.
