DESCRIPTION
CUERVO Y SOBRINOS watch. 18k gold chronograph wristwatch. Havana, circa 1940–1950.
Circular 18-karat yellow gold case, hallmarked, with stylized lugs. Ivory-colored dial signed “Cuervo y Sobrinos, Havana, Sole Importers,” with Arabic numerals and applied hour markers in a gold tone. Blued blade-style hands and central chronograph seconds hand. Bicompax chronograph configuration, with two subsidiary dials located at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions, corresponding to the minute counter and the small seconds sub-dial. Perimeter tachymeter and telemeter scales, with graduations in blue and red.
A fluted crown at the 3 o’clock position—not original—flanked by two rectangular pushers for operating the chronograph. Manual-winding mechanical movement.
