Château Lynch-Bages is one of Pauillac’s most iconic estates, linked to the Cazes family since 1939 and renowned for producing wines of great character and aging potential. Its vineyards are situated on Médoc gravel soils, which are particularly favorable for Cabernet Sauvignon. The exceptional 2005 vintage, marked by a warm, dry summer, produced wines of remarkable concentration and structure. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot was aged for fifteen months in French oak barrels. It stands out for its notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, tobacco, and graphite, with firm tannins and a lingering finish. A vintage particularly prized by collectors of great Bordeaux wines.
