DESCRIPTION
Three sculptural seals. China, ca. 1800.
"Imperial Guardians."
Gilded bronze.
Measurements: 8 cm. height.
Three sculptural seals from the end of the early nineteenth century. Made in gilded bronze, they are carved with great artistic precision. The seals with sculptures of Chinese imperial warriors are cultural jewels that evoke the majesty and power of ancient China. The imperial guardians, depicted in detailed armor and imposing postures, symbolize strength, protection and honor. These figures are inspired by the legendary soldiers who defended the emperor and the empire throughout history, such as the famous terracotta warriors of the first emperor Qin Shi Huang. Each warrior is sculpted with a high level of detail, faithfully representing traditional Chinese clothing and armor. One of them probably represents Guan Gong, symbolizing loyalty, justice, faith, courage, wisdom and kindness.
