BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Amphora following Corinthian models, 20th century.
Ceramic.
Measurements: 33 cm (height); 9 cm (diameter of mouth).
Although this amphora follows Corinthian models, it was made in the 20th century. It has a circular base, a paunchy body, a long, slender neck and triangular-shaped handles with grooved handles. It is decorated with geometric and animalistic motifs in earthy (brown, sepia, orange) and reddish tones. Amphorae are ceramic vessels that are distinguished by their two handles for easy carrying and a long, narrow neck, although in this case it is wide with a very narrow foot. They are notable for their long, wide neck and the geometric decoration that is arranged over the entire surface of the piece.
