DESCRIPTION
Set of three figures; Colima Culture, 100 BC - 200 AD.
Terracotta.
Measurements: 9 x 6 x 2 cm; 9 x 4 x 2 cm (smaller).
Set of three terracotta figures. The Colima culture developed in the northwest of Mexico between 200 B.C. and 500 A.D., in a coast plagued with natural accidents, humid climate and abundant flora and fauna. They were an agricultural people who dedicated a great part of their time to the execution of rites and religious ceremonies. Most of the archaeological remains found come from or have some connection with the tombs of important figures of religious and political life. Within its artistic production, what abounds most are the ceramic pieces, both for use and rituals and statuettes.
