DESCRIPTION

Disc Bi. Late Neolithic (ca. 2400-1900 B.C.)
Green stone.
Provenance: -Private collection, Jacques-André Cronier (1956-2019), Meziérs le Cléry, France. -By inheritance to previous owners -Art market, France, 2023.
Conservation: Good condition, no restorations.
Measurements: 19 cm. diameter.

Bi ritual disk, carved in green stone of varied tonalities, with natural veins and polished surface that evidences both its antiquity and its symbolic use. The piece has the characteristic circular shape with central Puncture, associated in archaic Chinese culture to the representation of the sky and ceremonial and funerary functions.

The irregular outer rim suggests ancient wear or partial fracture, consistent with its long history, while the patina and mineral inlays reinforce its authenticity and antiquity. These types of objects were highly valued in ritual contexts, especially during the late Neolithic, linked to cultures such as Liangzhu.
