Measurements: 10.5 cm in length.
Roman terracotta oil lamp with a slightly flattened circular body, a wide central disc, and an elongated spout. It features radial decoration around the fuel hole, with grooves that organize the surface and accentuate the shape of the piece.
Oil lamps were essential objects in everyday Roman life, used for lighting with oil and a wick. In addition to their domestic function, they were also used in funerary and ritual contexts, where light took on a symbolic value associated with protection and the passage to the afterlife.
