Double terracotta huaco, consisting of two bodies joined by a stirrup handle and a spout. The piece combines a simple globular chamber with a sculptural one, depicting a seated anthropomorphic figure with an expressive face, a raised arm, and details modeled and painted on the surface.

The typology of a double vessel with a stirrup handle is characteristic of various ceramic traditions of ancient Peru, where the container’s function is integrated with a narrative, ritual, and symbolic dimension. In this example, the presence of the human figure transforms the vessel into an image of a strongly ceremonial nature, beyond its practical function.

The figure is rendered with simplified yet highly expressive features: a rounded head, prominent eyes, pierced ears, and limbs modeled onto the body of the vessel. The position of the arm next to the face introduces a gesture that is difficult to interpret, possibly linked to a ritual, musical, or ceremonial pose. The surface retains traces of pigmentation and signs characteristic of its archaeological age.
