Bronze.
Weight: 37 grams.
Length: 99 mm.
Greek wall sconce from the Parthian provinces (from Turkey to Iran), dated to the 3rd–2nd centuries B.C. The piece depicts a standing figure in profile with a short beard and tousled hair, wearing a headdress and a draped toga, representing a nobleman or high-ranking official. The figure’s arm is extended forward, and on the back, remnants of the mounting from which it was attached are visible. It likely belonged to a brooch or clasp, with a pin on the back.
