DESCRIPTION
Votive ram figurine. Syrian-Hittite culture, 2000–1750 B.C.
Terracotta.
Provenance: G. Elías Collection.
Measurements: 6.5 x 3 x 5.5 cm; 2.5 x 4.5 x 7 cm (base).
A terracotta figure depicting a quadruped with coiled horns on top of its head, identified as a ram despite the high degree of idealization and simplification of its features. It is very likely that it served a votive purpose, and it resembles other finds from the Indus Valley.
