BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
African school of the 19th and 20th century.
Four wood carvings.
The small ones wear original clothes.
Measurements. 47 cm. high the biggest one.
The three small carvings are from the 19th century, the biggest is dated in the XX century. The four African statuettes, carved in the schematic and synthetic way characteristic of the autochthonous woodwork, probably respond to different ritual uses: the big one could represent an ancestor, guardian of the home, what is deduced by the frontal aspect and the dimensions.
