Pre-Columbian textile fragment belonging to the Nazca culture, made of camelid fiber using the gauze technique. The piece presents a powerful geometric composition organized by means of large zigzag bands, alternating red and black tones on a natural background.
The design combines staggered motifs, small repetitive elements and angular shapes that generate an intense visual rhythm. The chromatic alternation between red and black reinforces the graphic strength of the whole, while the diagonal structure provides movement and a marked ornamental presence.
This type of textile is evidence of the high degree of technical and symbolic sophistication achieved by ancient Andean cultures. In the Nazca world, weaving was a fundamental support for visual expression, with both a ceremonial and social function, where color, geometry and repetition constructed a language of great formal richness.
