DESCRIPTION
Mask; Africa, 20th century.
Ebonized wood.
Measurements: 63 x 43 x 20 cm.
A mask carved from ebonized wood, featuring a face with rounded features and a serene expression. The three-dimensional rendering of the features stands out, with almond-shaped eyes, a prominent nose, full lips, and a pronounced chin. The hair, rendered as a meticulously textured surface, is a hallmark of the smooth, polished finish of the face, whose highlights accentuate the sculptural richness of the carving.
