Large Japanese porcelain plate, dated from the first quarter of the twentieth century, hand painted. The piece combines a chromatic palette dominated by iron red and cobalt blue, a technique characteristic of Imari or Arita porcelain, famous for its balance between sobriety and ornamental richness.
The central motif shows a bouquet of peonies in full bloom, symbol of prosperity and beauty, accompanied by bamboo branches and delicate butterflies fluttering in the background, alluding to the harmony of nature.
