This depiction shows the deity enthroned in the meditative lotus position (padmasana), with legs crossed on an elaborate pedestal or base made of lotus petals (padmapitha).
The hands rest in the lap, holding a ritual vase or vessel of purifying water (kalasa), a characteristic symbol of compassion that bestows blessings upon the faithful. She wears a raised celestial headdress or veil covering a traditional bun, while her carved face conveys spiritual contemplation, with drooping eyelids and an expression of inner peace.
Carved from a solid block of hard stone with dark green veins and mottled hues, the sculpture stands out for the symmetry of its composition, the boldness of its form, and the meticulous finish of its polished surface.
