Sculpture of Guanyin, the bodhisattva of compassion and mercy, carved from deep green jadeite.
The celestial figure is depicted standing on a lotus flower, which in turn rests on the back of a reclining elephant. Guanyin holds a vessel in one hand and is accompanied by a small child figure at her side, all crowned by a radiant halo intricately carved in the background.
