The Gate bag owes its name to the distinctive metal pin on the side and the knotted front band in the shape of a bow on its closure. It is an icon of the Spanish firm in numerous versions, varying the size and materials.
Loewe is a Spanish brand that was founded in 1892 by Enrique Loewe Roessberg, a German in love with Spain who moved to Madrid to train as a craftsman in a leather workshop. Not much later, he opened his first store under the name E. Loewe. Finally, in 1905, King Alfonso XIII granted the brand the title of official supplier to the royal household.
