DESCRIPTION

Turkish rug, ca. 1970s.
Hand knotted cotton.
Measurements: 210 x 137 cm.

A characteristic design of the Caucasus, based on synthetic patterns that schematize vegetal motifs, can be seen in this carpet in Turkey. It consists of a red maroon field with a central medallion of zigzagging profile and a border formed by three bands. Complementary colors: ochre, brown, beige, different shades of green and blue.
