Romero Britto, known as the ambassador of "Happy Art", is characterized by a unique, vibrant and carefree visual language. His optimistic style draws on influences from Cubism, Pop Art and street art, using bold and colorful patterns to reflect his positive view of the world.
Britto, self-taught from a young age, perfected his art after a trip to Paris, where he was inspired by masters such as Matisse and Picasso. His work, which the New York Times described as distilling "warmth, optimism and love," has been exhibited in galleries and museums in more than 100 countries, including the Carrousel du Louvre. In addition to creating monumental installations in Hyde Park or New York's JFK airport, he has been a key artist at sporting events (2010 and 2014 World Cups, Rio 2016 Olympic Games) and has done numerous collaborations with prestigious international brands such as Audi, Disney, Coca-Cola, Hublot and Absolut Vodka. In fact, it was the collaboration with Absolut Vodka in 1989 that positioned him alongside icons such as Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. Britto, whose style is a mix of Pop Art, graffiti and stereotypical Cubism. He has done portraits for celebrities such as Shakira, Bono and Bill Clinton. His work is currently exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums on five continents, including the Carrousel du Louvre, the Reina Sofia Museum and the British Museum.
