DESCRIPTION

Scene with boddisatvas; China, 20th century.
Malachite.
Wooden pedestal.
Measurements: 15 x 14 x 5 cm; 18 x 15 x 6 cm (with pedestal).

Sculptural group carved in malachite representing a boddisatva carrying a tray with fruits, accompanied by a guardian spirit or small sage holding a peach of immortality. This leads us to think that they are in the celestial garden of the Queen Mother of the West, where the peach trees of eternal youth grew.
