Wooden chest with marquetry. The Persian art is characterized by its eclectic and sumptuous aesthetic, fruit of a stage of splendor as the Mediterranean had not seen until then. It has a long tradition, dating back to antiquity, when in the Persian empire the materials and artists were brought to the court from all the conquered lands, so that there was a rich mixture of languages and techniques that, in itself, reflected the empire and thought, which today is still projected in the decoration.
