Due to its iconography it is probable that it is the representation of Murugan-Kartikeya. Murugan, also known as Kartikeya, is a Hindu deity, the god of war, victory, wisdom and love.
The treatment of the bronze reveals meticulous and devotional workmanship, with a patina that evidences the passage of time and ritual use. More than a simple ornamental piece, this sculpture was conceived as an object of domestic worship, intended to promote meditation and spiritual meditation.
