Chinese porcelain bowl ascribed to the Qing dynasty, belongs to the production for export, which reproduced and reinterpreted traditional models from previous centuries. Its decoration corresponds to the Rose Family style (Fencai or Famille Rose), characterized by the use of opaque enamels of soft tones -pink, green, yellow and turquoise- applied by means of a meticulous work by hand, as can be seen in the figurative scenes, the floral motifs and the ornamental panels that run along the interior and exterior of the piece.
The piece presents an iconography typical of the decorative repertoire exported from China to the West: courtly scenes, stylized floral arrangements and cartouches with vegetal ornamentation, all organized in a symmetrical and richly detailed composition. The gold fillet border and the balance between narrative areas and decorative motifs respond to the hybrid taste of 20th century export porcelain, which combines traditional craftsmanship and adaptation to international markets.
